Das Berliner »Haus der Kulturen der Welt« veranstaltet im Jahr 2011 zusammen mit dem Goethe-Institut in vier Metropolen die internationale Workshop-Reihe »Translating HipHop«. In Beirut waren Mad Maxamom und Pyranja aus Deutschland, Diana Avella aus Kolumbien, Nazizi aus Kenia, Malikah und Rayess Bek aus dem Libanon und Felimino Dionisio aus den Philippinen mit im Boot und fertigten Übersetzungen ausgewählter Songtexte der jeweiligen Teilnehmer an. Auf der lyrischen Grundlage der Lieder greifen die Künstler die Inhalte auf und interpretieren diese mit Hilfe ihrer eigenen Lebenserfahrung. Durch die verschiedenen Sprachen entstehen im Laufe der Reihe zahlreiche Versionen desselben Stückes, die sich dennoch voneinander unterscheiden und die Vielseitigkeit der HipHop-Kultur verdeutlichen. In der aktuellen JUICE #136 haben wir bereits auf das vielversprechende Projekt hingewiesen und liefern nun die ersten Bilder.

Mensch Gleich Mensch ft Gigoflow (GittaSpitta) OUT NOW!
"Mensch Gleich Mensch" von Pyranja und GigoFlow (Gitta Spitta) ist die dritte Singleauskopplung vom Sampler "Gangway Beatz Vol2 - Metropolitans" , der im Herbst 2010 releast wurde. Der Song ist in allen großen Onlineshops erhältlich und beschreibt die unterschiedlichen Erfahrungen der beiden mit Nazis, Rassenhass und Alltagsdiskriminierung.
"Mensch gleich Mensch" from Pyranja and Gigo Flow (Gitta Spitta) is the third single from the GangwayBeatz vol. 2 "Metropolitans" sampler, which was released in September of 2010. The song is available in all large online shops and describes the artists different experiences with Nazi's, race hatred and day to day discrimination.

Mitte Juni wird Pyranja 2 Konzerte in Kairo & Alexandria geben. Props und Dank gehen ans GoetheInstitut & Gangway e.V.!!!
In the framework of Alexandria Summer Nights, young hip-hop artists from Germany, France, Turkey and Egypt gathered for the first time in Alexandria to prepare joint performances in the name of rebuilding bridges between people across Europe and the Mediterranean Region.
The programme culminated in a major cultural concert, Hip Hop Connection, on the evening of Friday 18th June, at Villa Antoniadis Gardens in Alexandria, attended by hundreds of people. Also
Europe Street Day Festival was organized the day after, and during which the 27 countries of the EU presented their traditional food and drinks.
The event is organized by the Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation, the Goethe-Institut and the French Cultural Centre , and carried out with the support of the Franco-German ‘Elysée Fund’, the Turkish Consulate and the Delegation to the European Union based in Cairo.
In total, 30 press articles were published about the event in addition to a TV coverage by 3 Egyptian Satellite and Local Channels.
